We welcome Zen Hair to Blackheath Hair & Co an exquisite range of luxury hair extensions presented to you by their world-famous hair manufacturer.

Established over 35 years as leading experts in the industry, They have gained a solid reputation for delivering on their promise.

THE ZEN QUALITY

Zen Hair uses a source guaranteed to be from 100% Virgin Hair. Their careful selection of the finest remy hair, together with the World’s most advanced processing techniques, ensures that the extensions perform exactly like your own hair. They guarantee the most natural wave, fullness, lustre and longevity of our Virgin Hair.

The raw materials they use are meticulously hand selected from the Virgin hair, and they choose only the finest, healthiest and strongest hairs from that source.

Tape Extensions

Tape extensions are one of the most popular application methods, thanks to its speedy application time and easy removal process. It is still one of the most popular application methods.

This method requires maintenance every 8 to 10 weeks and involves completely removing the hair using a Matrix tape remover spray. The hair needs to be clarified to remove the spray, and the tapes need to be washed to ensure all product is removed. After drying, the old tape adhesive is removed and replaced with new Trax! tape, ensuring the surface of the tapes is 100% free of old tape or debris. It’s important to note that some clients may have two sets of hair extensions, so the maintenance appointment is not twice as long as the initial appointment. Alternatively, we recommend that you have the hair removed and leave it with us to remove the tape and prepare the hair to be refitted. This service would be over two appointments, and there is no need to purchase new hair. This process can be repeated up to 4 times during the hair’s lifespan.

Weft Extensions (Nano Weft / Ultimate Weft)

Weft Extensions is installed by placing wefted hair (hair on a tack onto a parted section of your hair, small sections of your natural hair are taken from above and below the wefted, sandwiching it in place and using a microbead to secure.

To ensure longer life and health for extensions and scalp, wefts should be refitted every 5-7 weeks (for fine hair, this may be earlier). Delaying a maintenance appointment can result in excess pressure being placed on the roots which can cause damage.

Weft maintenance is divided into 2 categories: intermediate and full. The intermediate maintenance involves lifting the weft, pinning it away from the row, and loosening the rings. Any shedded hair can be removed from the area and then be tightened. This will last a further 4-7 weeks. Full maintenance involves completely removing the weft and refitting.

Micro Ring Extensions (I-Tip)

I-tip hair extensions are fitted by taking a section of an individual’s hair, threading either a micro bead onto the hair using a pulling needle, and then securing the hair extension tip inside by using a pair of pliers to press on the ring/tube to close it and seal the hair and bond.

The uplift appointment involves opening each bead and moving the extensions back up to their original position. Unlike U-tip extensions, there is no need to use new hair or replace the bond, so if any hair extensions have come out, they would be easily re-fitted. An uplift appointment would need to be scheduled around 8 weeks after you have first had your hair extensions fitted due to regrowth and natural shedding.

Nano (I-Tip) Extensions

Nano tip and I-tip hair extensions application method are practically identical. The main difference between the two is that the Nano tips are fitted with beads that are up to 90% smaller.

Hair Extensions Aftercare

Together with the use of Zen Hair aftercare range, your Zen Hair extensions will maintain their original condition of stunning beauty and vitality for a minimum of 3 months. Your hair extensions last much longer than this, being reused for up to a year with good maintenance.

 Washing and Drying

  • Only Zen Hair products should be used on the hair.
  • Any additional products used will be at your discretion and should be sulphate-free.
  • You should only wash your extensions 1-2 times per week.
  • Before washing detangle the hair and separate the bonds.
  • Smooth the shampoo down the extensions, DO NOT RUB as tangling will occur.
  • Condition from the mid-lengths to the ends of the extensions, do not apply conditioner to the bonds.
  • When hair is damp, use an oil/serum. Dry the bonds first using the cool setting on your hairdryer.

Brushing

  • You will need to use an extension brush on/near the bonds. This is so the bonds don’t get snagged.
  • When brushing you will need to hold the bonds to support them, this will prevent excess tugging on the extensions.
  • ALWAYS use an extension brush when hair is wet or dry.

Styling

  • Always keep heat away from your bonds.
  • Always use a heat protection spray before blow-drying/applying any heat.
  • *The more heat you use on your hair extensions the shorter the life span of the hair.
  • Treat your extensions with the same respect as your hair.

  3. Full Payment Requirement:
    • We reserve the right to require full payment before scheduling another appointment. This payment will be treated as a booking fee and will be fully retained if you cancel late or do not show up.
    • If no booking fee was collected and you cancel within 24 hours, a late cancellation fee of 50% of the total appointment cost will apply. Future bookings will then require full payment in advance.

Hair Colour Clients

  1. Patch/Sensitivity Test:
    • All new hair colour clients must undergo a patch/sensitivity test at least 48 hours before their appointment. Failure to complete this test will result in appointment cancellation, with cancellation charges applying as per the above terms. This is for your safety to prevent any allergic reactions.

Hair Extensions

  1. Maintenance Appointments:
    • After your hair fitting, it is essential to keep up with maintenance appointments to protect both your extensions and natural hair. We recommend booking these appointments at least 3 weeks in advance to avoid disappointment. The above cancellation, booking fee, and no-show policies apply.
  2. Preparation for Extensions:
    • On the morning of your extension appointment, wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo. If your hair is not clean and oil-free, we may not be able to fit your extensions, resulting in the loss of your deposit. If time permits, we can wash and blow-dry your hair for an additional fee.
  3. Extension Removal:
    • Extensions should be removed by our salon to ensure your natural hair remains in good condition. We are not responsible for any damage if removed by yourself, another salon, or a third party. Adhere to the recommended removal timeframe for your extension method to prevent damage.
  4. Product Recommendations:
    • We recommend using our specially formulated products for hair extensions, which are sulfate and paraben-free. Failure to use these products may lead to dryness, slippage, or deterioration of your extensions, for which we are not responsible.
  5. Hair Colouring:
    • Colouring your hair extensions is at your own risk. We are not responsible for any deterioration of your extensions, hair, or bonds due to colouring.
  6. Colour Match Changes:
    • If you change your natural hair colour after a colour match and hair has been ordered, you will be responsible for any additional costs, including new hair orders if necessary. Some hair ranges are non-refundable once ordered.
  7. Third-Party Services:
    • We are not responsible for any issues arising from having your extensions cut, topped up, removed, or refitted by another salon or individual.
  8. Allergic Reactions:
    • In the rare event of an allergic reaction or discomfort with your extensions, please visit the salon immediately for an assessment. If removal is necessary, it will be done free of charge. These reactions typically occur quickly and not after prolonged wear.
  9. Extension Quality Issues:
    • If you notice any issues with the quality of your extensions within three weeks, notify us immediately. We will need to assess the hair in the salon. If a fault is found with the hair, it will be replaced and refitted at no cost, provided you followed all aftercare instructions and used our recommended products.
  10. Holiday Considerations:
    • We advise wearing an older set of extensions when traveling to avoid damage in different climates. Blonde extensions, in particular, may turn orange due to hard water in certain locations. We offer hard water sachets to help mitigate this issue. Please consider these risks before choosing a new set of extensions.
  11. Addressing Issues:
    • If any issues arise, you must visit the salon within 48 hours so we can inspect and resolve them. We aim for complete client satisfaction and will do our best to address any concerns. No refunds will be provided if you fail to visit within this timeframe or if issues arise due to third-party services.
